Five Years Later—

Time for a Trash Receptacle on Tim White Way

Tim.Whites.Way.Waste.Receptacles

A small step toward a cleaner, more welcoming community space, Tim White's Way was designed to be a welcoming gathering space for our neighborhood—but right now, it’s not fully living up to that vision.Without a trash receptacle, litter builds up, and the space isn’t being used as it was intended.

This May 2nd we’re coming together to help restore the space—and we’re inviting you to be part of the next step: asking the City to install and maintain a permanent trash receptacle so it can stay clean and welcoming every day.

Early concept rendering of Tim White Way, illustrating a clean, well-supported public space with elements such as seating and waste receptacles. As part of the original design considerations, cleanliness—including the addition of waste receptacles and a maintenance plan—was identified as essential to the success of the space:

"Cleanliness of the space is a large concern, so we will add waste receptacles and make a clear maintenance plan designating responsibility for upkeep of the space.”

Our May 2 cleanup is one way we’re supporting that vision. While community cleanups help reset the space, they cannot replace the need for consistent, day-to-day waste management. Uncontained trash not only affects how the space looks—it can also attract rodents and other pests.

Adding a permanent, city-maintained trash receptacle is a simple, practical step that will help ensure Tim White's Way can function as the welcoming, vibrant place it was designed to be for residents, visitors, and local businesses alike.

We invite you to support this effort by adding your name to our petition as we work toward a lasting solution for this shared community space.
