Proposed Homeless Shelter at 5 Redlands Road

The proposed project at 5 Redlands Rd is currently the subject of ongoing litigation and is moving forward through the court process.

Based on publicly available updates:

• The project has undergone multiple stages of administrative and zoning review

• A legal complaint has been filed and is now proceeding in court

• The matter remains active, with proceedings continuing as part of the legal process

• Updates may be limited at this stage. BHIA will continue to share information as it becomes available.

Background

• 5 Redlands Rd. was previously operated as a nursing home.

• The property has since been approved for use as an emergency assistance shelter through a recent permitting process.

• Abutters have filed a legal challenge regarding the issuance of that permit, and the matter is now before the court.

• Community members have expressed questions and concerns regarding the project and the approval process.
