5 Redlands Rd.

Proposed Homeless Shelter at 5 Redlands Road

Redlands neighbors have formed a new alliance, and their website is: redlandsmanthorne.com

5 Redlands Rd. was previously a nursing home to 79 residents.

Zoning code prohibits this location from use as a homeless shelter and transitional housing; but a permit was granted recently, without disclosure.

Abutters have hired an attorney to appeal the issuance of the permit, but they lack many answers.

Neighbors are concerned about this insular process, its safety and security.

The site plans to place an estimated 130 residents, 42 homeless families, and is being called a “community changer.”

UPDATE as of 10/31:

The Zoning Board of Appeals (ZBA) denied the appeal filed on behalf of Stephen Marsh.

On 10/31, the legal team is in court pursuing action related to the ZBA’s decision regarding 5 Redlands.

Specifically, a motion has been filed seeking an injunction to prevent use of the property until the matter has been fully reviewed by the court.
