BHIA Requests Comprehensive Road Safety Audit

October 16, 2026

Following longstanding neighborhood concerns about speeding, traffic safety, visibility, and pedestrian access, the Bellevue Hill Improvement Association (BHIA) formally requested a comprehensive Road Safety Audit of LaGrange Street, Redgate Road, St. Theresa Avenue, and surrounding streets on October 16, 2026.

BHIA also raised concerns following MassDOT's confirmation of deficiencies in Boston's crash reporting spanning approximately 18 years (2004–2022). In a follow-up communication, BHIA requested that the City obtain historical crash records directly from Boston Police to support a more complete and accurate roadway safety assessment.

The correspondence below documents BHIA's requests to City officials and will be updated as additional information and responses become available.
